CEBU, Philippines - Department of Education-7 Regional Director Carmelita Dulangon denied she is soliciting money for victims of super typhoon ‘Yolanda.’
“Please help me stop this unknown person from spreading this scam. I did not ask for donations. That account number does not belong to DepEd,†Dulangon said in a text message to The FREEMAN.
Dulangon said she will inform Landbank about the matter.
It was DepEd assistant secretary Rey Lagunda who saw a post on Facebook regarding the solicitation which used Dulangon’s name and phone number and reported the matter to Dulangon.
The post said Dulangon is asking for donations through Landbank account DECS OSEC TRUST 0672-1000-20
“I did not ask for donations. I do not know that LBP number,†Dulangon said. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
