Fire hits Inayawan warehouse
CEBU, Philippines — An estimated P500,000 went up in flames after a fire destroyed a warehouse and a house in Sitio Santo Niño, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City, last Thursday night.
Fire investigators said the warehouse was owned by a certain Alfredo Matiling. No one was reported hurt or killed in the incident.
Firefighters received the alarm around 7 p.m. and raised it to the second alarm at 7:43 p.m. It was later declared under control at 7:50 p.m. then considered fire out at 8:32 p.m.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Hermes Molina of the Cebu City Fire Department said sparks from welding work done in the second floor of the warehouse, which housed rubber products and caps, may have caused the fire. However, this has yet to be verified.
From the warehouse the fire spread to an apartment just behind it. BANAT News/BRP (FREEMAN)
