Third District Representative Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia, upon arriving at the entrance to the Grand Ballroom of Grand Convention Center on her birthday last October 12, received a thunderous and warm applause from her almost 800 guests. She looked every inch gorgeous in an off-shoulder red lace dress.
Flitting from table to table, her first stop was to give a buzz on her beloved father, former Congressman Pablo Garcia. A little later, came former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, Mayor Lani Mercado, Sec. Al Cusi, Sec. Addy Sitoy, Francis Tolentino, Cong. Benhur Salimbangon, Ambassador Frank Benedicto, board members, mayors and councilors of the Province of the Province of Cebu; Vice Mayor Edgar Labella, former Mayor Mike Rama, former classmates of Gwen at the STC HS `73. Of course, her siblings were also present… Atty. Pablo John, Nelson, Mayor Marlon, Farla, her children Mayor Cristina Frasco and husband Commissioner Duke Frasco, son Paulo and Michaelle Garcia and grandson Jules.
Dinner over, Rep. Gwen Garcia revealed to all her guests her desire to be governor of Cebu again. In fact, before her birthday bash, she had already filed her COC. Rep. Gwen was truly happy and overwhelmed of the turnout of people who came to help her celebrate her 63rd birthday... “the happiest birthday ever” to happen in her lifetime!
