Rustans's Supermarket re-opened in Ayala

CEBU, Philippines - Continuing its commitment to serve the discerning Cebuano shopper, Rustan's Supermarket recently re-opened its newly renovated branch at the Basement 1 of the

Ayala Center Cebu's new expansion wing, making it the latest must-visit supermarket

destination in the Queen City of the South.

Seen at the affair were guests of honor Cebu Holding Executive Vice President Aniceto V. Bisnar, Ayala Land Inc.'s AVP and Vismin Head of Operations Clavel Tongco, Cebu City Congressman Raul Del Mar, and society bigwigs Mariquita Yeung and Amparito Lhuillier, as well as Miss Cebu 2014 Diane Muego.

Leading the grand bread-breaking ceremony to officially unveil the bigger and more beautiful store were Rustan's Supercenters, Inc. (RSCI) executives, who flew in to Cebu for the special occasion: Chairman Emeritus Ambassador BienvenidoTantoco, Sr., Chairman of the Board Bienvenido Tantoco, Jr., President Donnie Tantoco, CEO Pierre Olivier Deplanck, and Dairy Farm International's Regional CEO for South Asia Alex Tay.

"We are giving you probably the best Rustan's Supermarket right here in Ayala Center and a world-class shopping experience like no other," said Deplanck in his welcoming remarks. "You asked for a bigger store, but not only are we giving you wider aisles, we have also improved our offerings, with more variety, international selections and innovative food concepts, all to please your discerning palates," he added, referring to the 2,800-sq.-meter space designed by international retail artist Shozu Nitta.

Tantoco then spoke about the long history and presence of RSCI in Cebu. "We consider Cebu a second home, particularly since we have been here since our first store opened 1981. For over three decades, we have stayed true to our creed of providing and offering the citizens of Cebu the kind of grocery experience we think they deserve," he said.

Guests enjoyed a sumptuous brunch featuring dishes from culinary capitals around the world, prepared using ingredients from Rustan's Supermarket, accompanied with free-flowing premium-label wines from the supermarket's Wine Selection. (FREEMAN)
