Easy does it

CEBU, Philippines - It could probably be the Donatella Versace effect once again: the Italian fashion designer who has recently introduced a stroke of thick neon violet around the eyes of her models.

But farewell to all that. The natural look redeems the whole shenanigan of this year’s glow-in-the-dark cosmetic revolution.

At the Lohas Skin Clinic’s second anniversary, six fashion designers brought their latest pieces to the runway at the Ayala Activity Center last May 10, Friday. Arcy Gayatin, Edwin Ao, Jun Escario, Protacio, Philip Rodriguez and Yvonne Quisumbing agreed to an all-natural make-up and hair styling.

No curls and frills were allowed, so the hair was ironed straight and tied down. That is a positive dermatologic move: Hair must be away from the face. Eyes seemed well rested as minimal eye liner was applied, extending only a little on the edge of the upper lids. Lips were nude (foundation then gloss), and cheeks glow naturally.

Each of them welcomed Histolab’s Skin Science miracle: Vital Science, Ato Science, Age Science, Sun, Acne, Aqua, and White Science.

With beauty styling you can carry from morning appointments to soirees, we predict the good news—ladies, salvation is here.

Cannes good

Beauty and hair trends we’ve spotted at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival through Cosmopolitan magazine UK edition.

Marion Cotillard

Channelling classic Cannes glamour, French screen star, Marion Cotillard showed off the ultimate beehive on the red carpet. Her makeup made things modern, with blue eyeliner on her lower lids and nude gloss on her lips. Stunning.

Carey Mulligan

The cream of Cannes, Carey Mulligan, showed off yet another gorgeous look with her milky blonde locks. While we love her grown-out pixie crop worn down, this intricate up-do is a work of art.

Emma Watson

At The Bling Ring photocall, the actress oozed grownup glamour with this shiny, side-parted style secured in a bun at the nape of her neck. Someone was watching the catwalks!

Cara Delevingne

Cara stole the show at the premiere of The Great Gatsby with this scorching hot beauty look. Pairing smoky eyes with classic red lipstick can be ageing but the young model’s current hairdo, effortlessly sculpted to one side, brought the effect bang up to date.

Freida Pinto

We adore Frieda’s pretty plaits she showcased at the Cannes premiere of The Great Gatsby. Doesn’t this prove this style is as perfect for the red carpet as it is for a summer festival?
