CEBU, Philippines — Alex Gonzaga recently had her nose implant removed. The actress-turned-vlogger uploaded her rhinoplasty (surgical procedure done on nose) experience on her YouTube vlog on Sunday.
She said that after a year of back and forth, she had her implant removed after two years last July. “Pinatanggal ko na. Wala na siya. Out na. Wala na ang aking Gore-Tex, pinatanggal ko na ang ilong ko after two years,” Alex revealed.
“Nakapag-decide ako na ipatanggal ko na lang. Isa sa mga concerns ko is even sina Toni Fowler (another vlogger) napapansin nila na laging namumula ang ilong ko lalo na kapag malamig, pagod, puyat ako,” she added.
Alex’s concerns about her nose turning red whenever it is cold, or she is tired or had little sleep, had prompted her to have the Gore-Tex inside her nose removed. In many medical literature, Gore-Tex is described as a synthetic, biocompatible material made from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene commonly used in rhinoplasty.
Alex shared that a doctor explained to her that once Gore-Tex is put inside the body, there will be tissue growth around it, melding the synthetic material with the body. She had the surgery done at one of the celebrity doctor Dr. Vicki Belo’s high-end clinics.
Alex showed glimpses of her seven-day recovery after the procedure. She ended her vlog by advising people to think things through before undergoing a similar procedure.
“Suggestion ko, sa lahat ng mga nagbabalak na magpa-enhance or anything, ang gusto ko lang i-remind is wala namang masama [sa] magpa-enhance or magpagawa, and kung ano man ang mga binabalak mo, make sure na mag-second opinion ka muna. Mahirap na kapag after operation, may mangyari sa’yo kasi irreversible na ang gagawin sa’yo,” Alex said. – Philstar.com (FREEMAN)
