Kapuso fans may know Analyn Barro from the comedic sexy characters she plays in "Bubble Gang", and for someone who isn’t afraid to flaunt her physique on her Instagram. What followers might not know is that her religious family had reservations about her showing her sensual side.
“My family is super religious...grabe mag rosary at mag-Bible ang lola ko. I can feel my lola from heaven that she is judging what I am wearing,” the 26-year-old GMA jested during a recent interview in Cebu.
“On my Instagram, I would post something that isn’t too revealing but I did show my skin. My dad messaged me one time and asked me ‘Unsa ni? Why are you wearing this?’ I explained to him that it’s part of my work,” she shared.
While Analyn is comfortable in comedy, she is expanding her dramatic side with teleseryes such as “Nakarehas na Puso”, “First Lady” and its sequel “First Yaya.” She plays Megan in “The Write One” which is wrapping up its run today on primetime.
“I am grateful and blessed that I am at this point of my career after 'Bubble Gang' where I get to experience different genres like comedy and heavy drama. I am grateful to GMA and Sparkle for giving me so many roles and be given this opportunity bilang isang Bisaya, isang Ilonggo that is on TV,” the Bacolod-born actress who was a top ten finalist in 2015's StarStruck 6.
“I placed in my Instagram bio before that I am a proud Bisaya and Ilonggo because I want to represent that any probinsyano or probinsyana that we can [make it in showbiz]. Kayo nato ni,” she added.
While shooting "The Write One," she didn’t expect to be close with her workmates. “That’s the first time that I have had that kind of support from friends, like Royce Cabrera, Yvette Sanchez, and Kokoy de Santos. I am just so happy because off-set, grabe kami mag TikTok. First time ko na yung workmate, naging friends ko in real life,” she said.
