Sue Ramirez fulfills dream of a billboard along EDSA

Sue Ramirez attends a gathering of loved ones as she was welcomed by Dr. Vicky Belo into her family of celebrity endorsers.

Matteo Guidicelli finally ended the long wait of his fans with the release of his highly-anticipated new song entitled “Sundo,” his first single under his new record label, Viva Records, after he signed with the company a few months ago.

The actor-singer successfully launched “Sundo” last May 24 at The Music Hall at Metrowalk where he had for his audience a good crowd, made up mostly of young women who were so excited to watch him perform cuts from his forthcoming album.

It might have taken Matteo two years before releasing a new track but his fans patiently waited for this comeback. This may as well be because of how he throws himself completely in everything he does.

Whether it was being a skilled race car driver during his younger years, or faring well in the famous Ironman triathlon, or having laser-like focus on his career, Matteo makes sure that his passion comes through every endeavor he takes.

In “Sundo” that sings about searching high and wide for a special someone, he uses the words of the original songwriter to express his message: “Kay tagal kong sinusuyod ang buong mundo, para hanapin, para hanapin ka.”

This is not far from his own journey of discovery. Along the way, he found a new home as he signed with Viva and discovered more of himself as he enlisted with the Philippine Army. Finding a home in these places, he sings with assuredness in the chorus: “Asahan mo mula ngayon, pag-ibig ko’y sayo.”

Sonic-wise, Matteo’s rendition goes back to the alternative pop sound of the original while infusing some tangly acoustic pop flavors to create the heartfelt ballad version of “Sundo.” Matteo will soon give the audience an exclusive peak to the premiere of his music video directed by Nolan Bernardino.

ABS-CBN artist Sue Ramirez is one of the very first to try the latest version of the anti-aging machine Thermage FLX brought by the Belo Medical Group, the first in the country. The leading aesthetic and dermatological clinic in the Philippines is the first to offer the many advantages of the newly-launched Thermage FLX, a fourth-generation version equipped with improved technology that allows for higher patient comfort and significantly enhanced results. Sue, being a Belo baby for years, attests to its efficacy.

Sue quips, “Its virtually painless and there’s absolutely no down-time.”

She reveals that it does wonders for her greatest insecurity – her double chin. “I’ve also always been teased for my ‘siopao face.’  But after trying Thermage FLX, I saw the effects immediately. I know its going to be better in the coming months.”

It was a happy occasion when the partnership of Sue and Belo was celebrated recently. In a gathering of friends and family, Sue’s first billboard was launched on May 12 at Las Casas Filipinas in Quezon City. Food served was prepared by top chef Margarita Fores while the venue was dolled up by Robert Blancaflor with lots of different flowers to signify the blossoming of Sue.

Dr. Vicki Belo was there to introduce Sue as she becomes the face of Belo’s latest Thermage FLX billboard. Dr. Belo explained that Thermage is not only for those aged 40 and above. Someone as young as Sue can already start with this treatment.

She said, “With K-pop beauty becoming more and more popular,  people want smaller faces. Sue, for one, needs it more because of her job. She wanted to address her double chin and make her face a bit smaller. I think we found a procedure that would fit most everybody.”

Sue was emotional as she thanked her Belo family for her very first solo billboard. She said, “Alam ng pamilya ko ito, pangarap ko magka-billboard sa EDSA. Nagkatotoo na! Thank you Dr. Belo.”

That night, as a surprise to Sue, her good friend Inigo Pascual serenaded her and the guests with a song number.
