Zsa Zsa Padilla merges old and new in upcoming concert

The Divine Diva Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla is excited of her upcoming concert titled "Totally ZsaZsa" to be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on May 16.

At the presscon held April 12 at El Calle Bar in Resorts World Manila, the singer revealed that she thought of merging popular songs of the old times with the millennial sound, together with her director Floy Quintos who also wrote the script.

“I want to merge the music of yesteryears with the present crop of music that is a hit with the millennials,” said the sultry-voiced singer known for the hit “Hiram.”

“I want to share the music we grew up with to the young people of today and who knows, they might like it. But we are giving the old songs a different arrangement that we believe the millennials will be able to appreciate. I want them to hear the music our parents used to listen to and which we, as kids growing up, have come to like as well,” Zsa Zsa added.

Before the presscon started, ZsaZsa did a medley of songs composed by Burt Bacharach. “This is just a sample of what you might hear in the concert but with a different arrangement, ” she said.

Joining the Divine Diva in her concert is the dashing actor-turned-singer Ian Veneracion who did some singing in his last teleserye “A Love To Last” where he was paired with Bea Alonzo.

“It was my idea to get Ian as my guest since I’ve heard he has been doing concerts although I have yet to hear him sing,” said Zsa Zsa, who recalled that she and Ian first worked together in the Seiko Films movie, “Black Magic, ” which starred Dolphy.  Ian was only 12 years old then.

“I wanted to have Ian in my Valentine show but his schedule did not permit so we tried it again and happily he is available,” said Zsa Zsa who is looking forward to doing a blues number with Ian, as well as some dancing.

Also appearing in the show are Karylle and #Hashtags member Zeus Collins who will be asked to do something different for the concert.

Musical direction is by Homer Flores. The concert is produced by Ultimate Shows, Inc. which has produced Zsa Zsa's previous concerts.

Many people are probably wondering, including the haters and bashers of Aiko Melendez, why her son Andre Yllana is endorsing the candidacy of Subic, Zambales Mayor Jay Khonghun for vice governor of the province.

But we should not be intrigued by the matter as Aiko said in her most recent Facebook post that she has no time for intrigues and negative news.

Aiko said Andre and his Tito Jay are close, ditto with Gov. Jun Ebdane. She added that it was Andre’s decision to campaign for his Tito Jay. It was a genuine move on the part of Andre and there was no coercion involved.

Andre and Mayor Jay became close because the latter treats him and his sister Marthena Jickain like his own kids.

Before flying to the US, Andre will go on a house-to-house campaign in select places in Zambales to help in informing the people of his Tito Jay’s platform and plans for the province.

Andre is already 20. He is of legal age and can vote. And he is glad to find time to campaign for his mom’s boyfriend.

On the part of Aiko, she was pleased with the positive feedback after going live on Facebook where she lashed back at Mayor Jay’s opponents.

A lot of Zambales folks sided with her after she exposed the shenanigans of Mayor Jay's opponents.

She took the time to read the messages sent in her Facebook account. While she was unable to answer each one, she appreciates the love and concern the people showed her.
