Sarah Geronimo’s definition of success

CEBU, Philippines — For Sarah Geronimo, true success comes with a purpose.

“At some point when you are blessed with so much, pag binigay na sa iyo ng Panginoon yung para sa’yo o yung pinapangarap mo, magkakaroon na ng ibang meaning ang success,” the Popstar Royalty quipped onstage during the Cebu leg of Convergys’ two-part concert series held August 25 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

“Hindi po fame, yung fortune, yung award o kung ma-fill up mo man yung concert venues, hindi na po nasusukat yung isang success. Kung di, when you are able to inspire others to never give up on their dreams and to share your blessings to touch people’s lives.”

Sarah’s two-hour show was a rollercoaster of emotions as the “Miss Granny” star narrated her journey before becoming one of the country’s most sought-after singer-actresses. Challenges and embracing changes contributed to her success, she said.

“At some point, we just have to open our minds and hearts and welcome change so that we can move forward and dream more. Walang imposible,” said Sarah, who, just like the BPO company, is celebrating her 15th anniversary in the business this year.

“Convergys at 15: Made By YOU – Celebrating Our Stories, Embracing New Possibilities” concert was brought to Cebu to express gratitude to Visayas and Mindanao employees mainly Cebu, Davao and Bacolod. Sarah was joined by Xian Lim and Sam Concepcion.

The first leg was held at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila for Convergys’ Luzon team, headlined by Sarah and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez – the first time that both industry giants top billed a concert together.
