AlDub TVC breaks Internet

CEBU, Philippines - The country’s favorite noontime tandem is now an official endorser of a fastfood chain.

Speculations about the new ad started last week, as photos of Maine Mendoza eating at the fastfood chain made rounds on the Internet. But it was only on Friday, September 11, that the commercial was confirmed when it was posted on Facebook.

The commercial, which shows the two doing their usual Dubsmash antics while the song “Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal” is playing in the background, quickly caught the Internet’s attention, making the hashtag ALDUBKoTo a top trending topic on the microblogging site Twitter. Over a million tweets using the hashtag were posted since an hour ago.

“Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal” was originally sung by VST & Co., with its lyrics penned by “Eat Bulaga” pillar Joey de Leon and melody by Tito Sotto.

More endorsements are reportedly being lined up for Alden and Maine. –Philstar News Service
