Argentina Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to CCCI

The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic in the Philippines, Jose Nestor Ureta, paid a visit to Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 17.

The ambassador’s visit was to explore possibilities of strengthening the trade relations between Argentinian companies and the Cebu business community.  CCCI President Consul Antonio Chiu and some of his Trustees warmly supported this interest and showcased some of Cebu’s offerings such as soybean products for processed food and animal feed production, gear crates, wine as well exchanges in culture and the arts.

The visit is an opportune time for CCCI members to participate in an upcoming Argentinian Trade Mission set on November 2018 in Manila.

CCCI to Conduct 3-Day Industrial Calibration Training

CCCI is set to organize a three-day training dubbed as “Training on Industrial Calibration” on October 3 to 5 at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office 7 in Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

This three-day training program aims to deepen the participants’ knowledge and appreciation of Metrology, Measurement Standards for the variables mass, temperature, pressure and length as well as the methods used to calibrate the measuring instruments for the abovementioned variables.  It also seeks to equip the participants with a better understanding of calibration system and the advantages in their production systems.

DOST 7 Senior Science Research Specialist Roberto B. Edra who is also the Laboratory Head and Quality Manager of Regional Standards and Testing Center of the agency,will be gracing the activity as speaker. Engr. Edra’s continuous engagement in various trainings and exposure in and out of the country makes him an expert in this field and therefore, fitting for the industrial calibration training.

Registration fee costs Php 6,000 for CCCI members and Php 6,500 for Non-CCCI Members.
