IBM unveils new systems and software offerings

CEBU, Philippines - IBM unveiled new systems and software offerings recently to the Philippine market. 

The new technologies that take advantage of hybrid environments for innovative ways to share resources that provide faster paths to the Cloud and maximize Big Data insights,  were announced during the inaugural IBM Systems & Technology Group conference for 2014 - “IT Infrastructure matters: Because business outcomes matter.”

The IBM conference covered the essential IT topics of Cloud and Big Data, with sessions such as ‘Remaking Enterprise IT for the new age of Cloud’, to assist clients build and manage efficient infrastructures that optimize workloads.  Additional sessions explored the sharing of best practices and processes on ‘Driving business transformation with Big Data & Analytics’. The sessions aimed to educate attendees on optimizing the speed of decision-making, using high-performance infrastructure capabilities. Attendees were also able to view solution demos of the new offerings, while listening to prevailing IT insights and trends from global IBM experts.

The new technology offerings announced include:

Technology breakthroughs for x86 offerings with the new System X6, featuring Intel® Xeon® processors, which  dramatically increases application performance, agility and deploys larger mission critical workloads, to leverage the benefits of cloud.

New flash storage technologies that define the new landscape of computing by providing the extreme performance needed to drive analytical applications, for greater customer intimacy

Next generation integrated systems providing greater speed, simplicity and efficiency, to help organizations achieve the full potential of cloud deployments

Additions to IBM’ software defined environment portfolio for private and hybrid IBM SmartCloud clients, which are integrated with OpenStack, for  fully virtualized, open and programmable architecture.
