After reading about Wednesday's article on the useless practice of security guards' casual inspection of bags at mall entrances, another mediaman told The Ear of another useless practice: Marking receipts at mall exits. He said that it's an insult for customers to have their receipts marked, a security measure to make sure that the items bought were the reflected on the receipt, to rule out shoplifters.
