The Unified Vehicle Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), or number coding scheme, will be suspended throughout Metro Manila today, which has been declared a holiday to mark Eid’l Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.Even Makati City, which implements a similar, but separate traffic law as a local ordinance, suspended the scheme.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) automatically lifts the UVVRP on holidays since there are less vehicles plying the streets.
