Anastacio M. Ybañez Jr., a resident of barangay Basak, Mandaue City, was driving the backhoe, owned by Socor Construction Corporation, at the road asphalting project site when the incident happened Monday noon.
PO2 Jose Jamiro told The FREEMAN that Ybañez lost control of the backhoe when he maneuvered the equipment backward, causing it to fall into the ravine and seriously injure his head.

[Summary] => A 25-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at the Danao General Hospital after the motorcycle he was riding skidded when trying to avoid hitting a dog that suddenly crossed the national road at Looc, Danao City yesterday.
The fatality was Edu Enriquez Baclohan, single and resident of Maslog, Danao City, who suffered severe injuries as his head crashed unto the road when he fell from the motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Elwood Aguilar Morillo.
Morillo was also taken to the same hospital where he is now confined due to injuries on various parts of his body.

[Summary] => An uncle of a Danao City policewoman reportedly committed suicide after experiencing a nervous breakdown yesterday morning in barangay Poblacion.
Hipolito Perez Remo, a 49-year-old farmer of Bonifacio Extension, Poblacion, was found dead hanging from a mango tree near his house.
Remo's niece, PO1 Edna Almerez, a member of Danao City Police Station, informed her colleagues about the incident.
Based on police records, Remo suffered a nervous breakdown that led him to kill himself.
