Public Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane said yesterday the dismantling of billboards would be completed before the holiday season to prevent heavy traffic during the shopping rush. 


Ebdane gave the assurance as the task force which he heads has dismantled almost 2,000 substandard, hazardous and illegal billboards nationwide.

"Utilize all available resources such as equipment, asphalt materials and manpower to undertake restoration works," Ebdane told district engineers of DPWH-National Capital Region. 


Reports from the DPWH-NCR office disclosed that heavy rains caused by typhoons "Gorio" and "Huaning" damaged 109 out of 468 inventoried national roads in Metro Manila.
