                    [Summary] =>

Before the students watched the actual reading of Ladislas Fodor’s "The Vigil" at the FEU auditorium, a short documentary on proper theater decorum was shown, with the students themselves demonstrating this in the film as they enter the theater, take their seats and see a performance. The youngsters thus quickly learned correct theater behavior without effort.

"Work the space, but keep your center!" A dynamic revolutionary scene was being played out on the theater’s stage. Some actors were bumping into each other – total traffic. Others seemed to gracefully maneuver the chaotic scene, looking steady and refined in the turmoil. These were the actors so totally into the role, so aware and conscious of their movements.

That’s 3,000. Majority of us do so, not because we want to but because we have to. We move into an international global world where identification of one’s presence is often made, not by the individual’s skills but by the race of which we are a member of. Even the best of us shake our heads at the downward trend our racial pride has taken in the past decades. THE SEED OF OUR STORIES. INTRAMUROS. The buried treasure in our hearts. Deep down we connect with Intramuros amidst the hustle and bustle of urban living, albeit unknowingly. Usually visited only by tourists and apprentices of Philippine history, the Walled City has withstood the bombings of time to continue to fortress more generations of live experiences–including the generation in which we live today. It is not a distant past but a humble source of strength.
