Tomas, labor attaché Jeffrey Cortazar said the surveys conducted by the Pinoy Abroad newspaper and the Philippines Tonight radio program asked respondents who they would vote for if elections were held today. The choices were Mrs. Arroyo, actor Fernando Poe Jr., former education secretary Raul Roco, Sen. Panfilo Lacson and evangelist Eddie Villanueva.

                    [Summary] => A woman born in the Philippines was among those wounded in the terrorist bombing of a passenger bus in central Tel Aviv in Israel last Thursday.


A Philippine labor official in Tel Aviv said Evelyn Friedman, who is married to an Israeli, was aboard bus line No. 4 when a Palestinian man walked into the vehicle at around 1 p.m. and blew himself up.


Five people were killed and about 50 were wounded. Torn bodies lay in the bus seats and the street outside.

Following the death of a Filipina worker in a bomb explosion in Haifa, Israel, the Philippine government has organized so-called "text brigades’’ as one of the contingency measures to ensure the safety of the 30,000 Filipino workers in that country.


Israel-based labor attaché Jeffrey Cortazar said the text brigades will be tapped once the need to evacuate Filipino workers to safer grounds arises.
