                    [Summary] => TACLOBAN CITY — Eleven prisoners, led by a communist guerrilla, escaped from the Northern Samar provincial jail in Bobon town last Tuesday afternoon after killing two guards and wounding two others, police said.


Chief Superintendent Eliseo de la Paz, Eastern Visayas police director, said the police have launched a manhunt for the fugitives.


"My order is to shoot them on sight once they resist arrest," said De la Paz, describing the 11 escapees as armed and dangerous.

                    [Summary] => TACLOBAN CITY — Police are now hunting down eight inmates who bolted the sub-provincial jail in Allen town Tuesday afternoon after briefly holding a jail guard at gunpoint.


Investigation showed that the two jail guards on duty, Godofredo Gumarao and Noble Calague, asked one of the escapees, Warlito Pajarito, to fetch water. 


Pajarito, however, pulled out a caliber .45 pistol and threatened to shoot Calague whom he disarmed of his service shotgun.
