Then he was born, and with him came some of my most wonderful mother-and-son years. I would wake up early and tiptoe to his room to change his diapers. Then I would pick him up and hug him, smell him, kiss him, play with my marvelous baby boy, born so small on Sept. 30, 35 years ago. 35 years!  What did those years bring?
