 Farmers who use gasoline to run irrigation pumps in their farmlands can now heave a sigh of relief after a new rice hull gasifier engine-pump system developed by the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) was found to reduce irrigation costs by up to 44 percent and reduce environmental hazards.
