— A Pinoy tourist guide talking to a foreign guest: As you can see, this cockfighting game is the No. 2 most favorite national pastime in the Philippines.    


— Foreigner: Ugh, it’s revolting!

When Mrs. Arroyo arrived at the Manila Midtown Hotel yesterday wearing brown-tinted shades, many wondered if she had another photo session with Tattler magazine, which featured her last year with four of her Cabinet members as "Men in Black."


However, it turned out that she was sporting the shades due to an eye irritation she apparently developed a day after spending Sunday with her family, enjoying the sun and the water, at a resort in Palawan.
