Majestic is the only word I can use to describe Coron island. I was in awe the moment we caught sight of the magnificent limestone rocks and cliffs, interspersed with trees indigenous to this island, detached from the mountains and hills of Busuanga. You have to look at a map to understand why there is a Coron town, a Coron island and a Busuanga airport. And this is home to an indigenous tribe called Tagbanua.

So our turboprop plane finally lands in Busuanga airport, and we are driven to Coron town proper to meet the rest of the advocates assembled for the Green Leaders Forum. The two-day conference hopes to gather like-minded resort and lodge owners and operators, restaurant owners and tour guides to encourage green and sustainable development in this still relatively unspoilt island.
