The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ended its successful campaign against piracy for 2006 with the confiscation of some P6.5-million worth of computers and counterfeit software in simultaneous raids in Makati and Pasig recently, it was learned yesterday.
Agents of the bureaus Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) seized 24 desktop computers and a laptop containing with counterfeit software in the raids last Dec. 21.

Armed with a search warrant obtained from Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 46, a team led by NBI agent Glenn Lacaran raided what appeared to be a residential unit located in Sta. Ana.
The raiding team later found out that Samique Trading and Services conducts clandestine ink re-filling operations at the mezzanine level of 1986-B Fabie Estate, Road 14.
