                    [Summary] => Some people will want it otherwise but there is no denying that it is an R&B world as far as American pop music is concerned. The recent announcement of nominations at the 46th Grammy awards had R&B and hip-hop acts dominating the list. In fact, the year’s topnotchers are Beyonce, Jay-Z, Outkast and the Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams, who all tied with six nominations each. Rock acts Evanescence and the late Warren Zevon got five each but Missy Elliott, Eminem, 50 Cent, the Neptunes’ Chad Hugo, Ricky Skaggs, Justin Timberlake and Luther Vandross also did the same.

Born out of the remnants of similarly crucial bands of the 1990s Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden, Audioslave breathes new life to standard metal, combining the best aspects of those two aforementioned bands from which they came.
