He’s an avid wrestling fan who keeps magazines featuring his idols, with David Michael Bautista, or simply Batista a.k.a. The Animal, on top of the list, and miniatures of them in their best fighting stance. Obviously, I’m not a wrestling fan. I don’t like watching big guys throwing each other around like rag dolls. I’m a parody."

The 52-year-old actor appreciates how those words might have haunted his real-life career if he hadn’t been cashiered from Bond.

"I certainly connected with the line. It’s rife with sweet irony," Brosnan says. "I certainly didn’t want to become a parody."

Canada wants to make an impact in Asean business. Our visit is a prequel to the first ever Canada-Asean Business Forum set May 2-3 this year in Toronto. The business forum will coincide with the first Canada-Asean Senior Economic Officials Meeting, involving economic and finance officials from Asean member countries.
