Following a landslide victory, Fresnedi has been proclaimed winner in the mayoralty race yesterday, a few hours after election officials ruled over protests raised by his closest rival, Elizabeth Masangkay.

In the final tally, which was finished at 3 a.m. yesterday, Fresnedi got 82,184 votes as against Masangkay’s 61,280. But the proclamation was held only after six hours because of the protest filed by Masangkay’s camp.
