CANDON CITY — Three-Point king and Obstacle Challenge (Guard) champion.

Terrafirma’s Jerrick Ahanmisi shone brightest in the PBA Season 50 All-Star Weekend, winning not one but two competitions in the Skills Event last night at the Candon City Arena.

Less than an hour after ruling the Obstacle Challenge Guard Edition, Ahanmisi came out firing in the duel among the league’s most lethal snipers, scoring 30 points in the finals to defeat San Miguel’s Marcio Lassiter (25) and Converge’s Juan Gomez de Liaño (18) with plenty to spare.

The former Adamson star took care of business by knocking down the two golden shots from the four-point arc (worth three points each) plus at least three balls per rack. By the time he got to the fourth rack, he already eased past the output of Lassiter, who was the second to shoot after De Liaño.

“I’m so proud of myself because I work hard every single day and I put my best out every day in practice and in the games. So God’s just blessed me today,” said Ahanmisi.

It was a golden double for Ahanmisi, who started the day with a triumph in Obstacle play, ascending to the throne 10 years after old brother Maverick conquered the same contest that tests participants’ agility.

The younger Ahanmisi took only 24.94 seconds to navigate the course set up all over the hardcourt, including two passing goals, then knocking shots on designated areas to beat five others in a thrilling finale.

He bested Blackwater’s Dalph Panopio (26.97), TNT’s Rey Nambatac (27.94), Gomez de Liaño (35.83), Titan’s Fran Yu (37.52) and San Miguel’s Juami Tiongson (50.7).
