Sibol names representatives for three Asian Games events

MANILA, Philippines — With the 2026 Asian Games approaching, the country's national esports team, Sibol, has named its first few representatives for three of the esports events confirmed to be part of the 20th edition of the continental multi-sport event: Naraka: Bladepoint, Puyo Puyo Champions and Identity V.
Filipinos Richard Espejo, Ouchric Von Teñoso, Kenneth Perez and Raphaelron Joaquin Paclibar will represent the country in the battle royale game Naraka: Bladepoint team event, with Paclibar again taking part in the solo event.
For the survivor horror game Identity V team event, Sibol has seven representatives: Johannes Glenn Jucio, Joachim Santino Timtiman, Xyrel Terrence Julian, Joshua Francis Gumaro, Sander Joseph Gallo, Japhet Jay Onquit and Psalm David Cortez.
In the puzzle game Puyo Puyo Champions, Karl Owen Gonzalvo will be the solo representative.
Esports was elevated as a medal event in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Sibol had participated in six events there: EA FIFA Online, Arena of Valor, Street Fighter V, PUBG Mobile, Dream Three Kingdoms and Dota2. However, the team was eliminated in the early rounds.
For the coming 2026 edition, Sibol has identified seven events it intends to qualify in. Besides Naraka: Bladepoint, Identity V and Puyo Puyo Champions, other titles include Honor of Kings, Pokémon Unite and PUBG Mobile (Asian Games version) and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
