Futsal Women’s World Cup hosting moved to Pasig

MANILA, Philippines -- All matches of this year’s FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup will now be held solely in Pasig City, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) announced.
The PFF, in a statement, said Victorias City, Negros Occidental will no longer serve as a host city for the tournament to be held later this year.
“After a comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, and in light of the ongoing situtions, it has been decided that Victorias City, Negros Occidental will no longer serve as a host city for this edition of the tournament,” the statement read.
“The adjustment also reflects FIFA and the [Local Organizing Committee’s] joint objective to streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint, ensuring the most efficient delivery of the event,” it added.
Prior to the announcement, the Victorias City Coliseum was one of the two venues for the futsal matches.
But now, the matches will be held at the PhilSports Arena in the tourney set from November 21 to December 7.
“The PFF is fully committed to delivering a historic and memorable inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup. We are eager to showcase the passion of the Filipino people for the sport and invite everyone to celebrate women’s futsal on the global stage in Pasig City,” the statement read.
The draw ceremony for the futsal world cup will be held on September 15 at the BGC Arts Center.
