Valorant to launch Manila Server this month

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino Valorant players are about to experience smoother, faster matches as Riot Games will officially launch its Manila server on August 20.

Going live with the game's upcoming 11.04 Patch, the new Manila server marks Riot Games' sixth in the Asia-Pacific region. It’s a major step forward for the local gaming community, promising lower ping, more stable connections, and a seamless gameplay experience for Filipino players.

Since the game was launched back in 2020, Filipino Valorant players fans have relied on the Hong Kong server. While it has supported a thriving player base, many local players have faced connectivity issues due to distance and infrastructure limitations. 

“This is a big moment for us. The launch of Valorant's first-ever game server in the country reinforces our commitment to improving the local player experience while celebrating the Filipino communities that have helped the game grow.” said Jason Roberto, brand manager for Valorant at Riot Games Philippines.

The new server, labeled “MNL” in the Southeast Asia server list, will function just like its counterparts in Hong Kong and Singapore. It’s not a replacement, but an additional option that players can choose based on their preferences. Matchmaking quality and tournament eligibility will remain unaffected, ensuring that competitive players can still qualify for events like Premier and the Challengers Southeast Asia league, regardless of which server they use.

The launch comes on the heels of Valorant’s fifth anniversary, which was celebrated with a month-long tribute to the Filipino community which included a massive mural in Taguig City, a “Humans of VALORANT” mini-documentary series, and a tribute video that captured the passion and creativity of local players.
