No denying MCFASolver this time

MANILA, Philippines — Barely missing top honors in the previous leg, guest team MCFASolver shifted to high gear to get the job done this time.
Powered by the clutch buckets of Brandon Ramirez, the Tech Centrale ruled Leg 2 of the PBA 3x3 Season 3 Third Conference with a 19-17 finals verdict over tough San Miguel Beer yesterday at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
Ramirez banged a big deuce that sparked a 6-1 bomb for a 17-12 cushion and a clutch layup that led to an 18-16 breathing room as he produced a nine-point performance towing MCFASolver to the top after its runner-up finish to Meralco in Leg 1.
Louie Vigil shot seven markers, including a split in the last 5.1 seconds, while TH Tumalip added two and Yutien Andra scored one plus seven rebounds to complement Ramirez in the clinching win.
The Anton Altamirano-coached MCFASolver squad claimed its second leg triumph almost a month after falling short in the previous leg against the Bolts, 13-15. It scored its breakthrough in Leg 4 of the Second Conference.
“We fell short last leg, medyo out of condition kami (then) but we improved on it and focused on the game plan and defensive schemes of our coaches,” said Vigil after the feat worth P100,000.
