Lady Chiefs boost semis aspiration with win No. 6

MANILA, Philippines — Arellano University routed University of Perpetual Help, 25-12, 25-13, 25-23, yesterday to keep its grip of second place in the 97th NCAA volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena.

Nicole Victoria Sasuman stepped up with 10 points while Princess Bello willed in nine hits despite playing with a sore right knee as the Lady Chiefs nailed their sixth win in seven outings.

They trail only the unflappable College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers, who are unbeaten in five outings.

KC Adante dished out 19 excellent sets, helping AU close in on the Final Four.

Meanwhile, the loss was a mighty blow on the Lady Altas’ Final Four aspiration as they suffered a fifth defeat against two triumphs.

Meanwhile, CSB guns for win No. 6 against Jose Rizal U (3-3) today at the same venue.
