Manila HeiHei rules ‘Chooks’ 3x3 Invitational

John Bryan Ulanday - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Manila HeiHei ruled the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 Invitational in dominant fashion, rolling past Pasig Kingpin, 21-6, in the finale at the Laus Events Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Mac Tallo led the way with 13 points, including seven of his team’s first eight points and the title-clinching bucket with still four minutes left.

Zach Huang also stepped up with five markers as former Lyceum import Mike Nzeusseu struggled in the final after a hand injury in Manila’s 21-19 semifinal win over ARQ Builders-Cebu.

Nzeusseu bled for two markers while Chico Lanete chipped in a lone point but Manila still powered its way to the biggest rout in the one-day, 12-team tourney.

Manila, under the tutelage of head trainer Aldin Ayo, won the P100,000 top prize plus a P10,000 bonus as the quickest game finisher.
