Lucky 77 rules Super Circuit Derby second leg

MANILA, Philippines — Lucky 77 lived up to its name as it topped a field of 355 entries in ruling the second leg of the Seven-Cock/Stag Open Series Super Circuit Derby in Talisay, Negros Occidental.

Owned by Jomaine Junas, Marlon Guadalupe and Larry Estandarte, Lucky 77 compiled a perfect 7 points in the stagfest held from the derby period of Aug. 23 to 30.

With the triumph, the owners of Lucky 77 received the top prize of P1.3 million from the P3.3 million total at stake.

The Super Circuit Derby festival offers a total guaranteed prize of P28 million for the entire six-leg series.

Runners-up of the second leg with 6.5 points are AJY Sept/ 14 Stag Derby of owner Aljer Jay Yee Yec and Bandits ALM of owner Andrew Montelibano.

They are followed by six pointers D’ Breaker/High Star of J. Plana, Red Wings PL BCC of Patong Ledesma, Dumsquared Warriors of JM and Joel Dumdum, God Save the Queen of Julius and Ronald, Brayo/Ubaners of Bobby O. and Ubanon, BF Gracie of BF GF and Bong Lamoste, Super Ale GJV of Raul and Gerald Villanueva and Wilfredo Suga’s CCJ Edris, which ruled the first leg last July.

The entry with the highest point after the six-leg series conducted by Sabong International in cooperation with Metro Third Breeders Association and NTC Group will receive a whopping top prize of P5 million with the runner-up taking P1 million.
