Need a haircut? Fall in line
Inside the bubble
SMART CLARK GIGA CITY, Pampanga, Philippines — It’s Sunday hair day for the PBA delegation as it enters its second month inside the bubble.
Players and coaches will get the chance to regain their desired hairstyles in the grand “gupitan” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Quest Hotel poolside.
NLEX’s Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas, Ginebra’s LA Tenorio, NorthPort’s Sean Anthony and TNT Tropang Giga’s Jayson Castro head the long list of registrants for the PBA Hair Day courtesy of Nice Guys Barber Shop.
Five professional barbers who have undergone swab testing will perform the task. The haircuts aren’t free.
Ginebra guard Scottie Thompson, who owns a barbershop in Manila, will also fall in line to maintain the “pogi look” until he gets back home.
Rookies Kib Montalbo, Adrian Wong and Vince Tolentino will join the experience of having a haircut by the pool.
Then there’s coaches Topex Robinson, Jamike Jarin, Chris Gavina and Richard del Rosario, who are not to be left out in the grand “gupitan” (haircut).
Matthew Wright, Japeth Aguilar, Beau Belga, Raymond Almazan and Chris Newsome, however, have decided to keep their long hairdos.
After all, their ruffled hairstyles are proving to be added charms for their respective squads.

Players, coaches and staff went on with their daily business in the bubble sans practices and games at the SMART 5G-powered Angeles University Foundation.
Perfecting chemistry and staying happy amid the games suspension, Meralco players tried pool volleyball while some members of TNT Tropang Giga played billiards pretending to be Efren “Bata” Reyes.
San Miguel players jogged around the Mimosa Leisure Estate while some Alaska players had a shootaround on the cemented, open-air court here.
It was also business as usual for other teams, which either conducted meetings at the lounge or watched tapes in the viewing room to prepare for the PBA return on Tuesday.
