Rondina shines as Petron rallies to down Cargo Movers
MANILA, Philippines – Sisi Rondina and the Petron Blaze Spikers stormed back from two sets down to emerge victorious against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in five sets, 26-28, 27-29, 25-19, 25-20, 15-6, in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Thursday.
The Blaze Spikers thus avenged their first round loss to the Cargo Movers and snapped F2's 11-game winning streak.
Rondina went on an offensive rampage in the third and fourth sets to tow the Blaze Spikers back into the game.
With momentum on their side, Petron simply steamrolled the demoralized Cargo Movers in the fifth set.
Bernadeth Pons and Ces Molina were also vital in Petron's comeback win.
Kalei Mau and Ara Galang, meanwhile, were bright spots for F2 Logistics in the losing effort.
Petron improves to a 12-1 record while F2 suffers their first loss of the conference and sports an 11-1 slate.
