MANILA, Philippines — Bianca Patricia Agunod Cheng, a 14-year-old representing the SM International Ice Skating Rink, won two gold medals in the 39th Annual ISI World Recreational Team Championships held recently at the City of St. Peters Rec-Plex rinks in Missouri, USA.

Figure skaters from across the United States and from around the world joined the international ice skating competition.

Bianca won gold medals in the technical freestyle event and solo compulsories.  She won a silver medal for the rhythmic ribbon event, where skaters utilize a rhythmic gymnast’s 6-9-foot ribbon throughout the program.  She also won a bronze medal for the artistic solo event.

The young skater, coached by Kihyan Chua-Yap and Dave Alarcon, began to skate three years ago.  She is a Grade 10 student at the Philippine Science High School and trains in her free time.

She had also won gold medals at the 2018 Annual Skate Japan held in Saitama in June last year, and in the local Skate Philippines competitions from 2017 to 2019.
