MANILA, Philippines — The wait was worth it as Lindsay Stalzer carried F2 Logistics to an impressive win over United VC in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix last Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Stalzer, the pretty journeyman from Illinois, erupted for 25 kills and five blocks to lift the Cargo Movers to their third straight win in this prestigious club tournament.

Head coach Ramil de Jesus was elated over Stalzer’s performance, saying that the 30-year-old spiker is the one they need if they want to knock the crown off Petron’s head.

“If she’s not around, we could have lost this match by 0-3,” said de Jesus following their impressive win.

“Stalzer practiced with us only twice, but she’s a great leader on the court. We’re going to need more from her as the season progresses.”

But some good things never last.

Shortly after emerging as hero, Stalzer hinted that she’s seriously considering retirement after this conference.

Stalzer is one of the best imports the league ever saw.

After suiting up for Cignal in 2014, she powered Foton to back-to-back titles as well as in the AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship in 2016. Then, she joined Hillary Hurley in leading Petron to a runner-up finish in 2017 before finally winning another crown with Hurley and Kat Bell the following year.

She, however, was left unsigned as the Blaze Spikers went for the tandem of Bell and Niemer.

That’s why she vowed to do everything she can not only to prove Petron wrong, but also to win another crown before formally calling it a career.

“I’m probably close to the end,” she said.

“I want to get one more championship and maybe I can retire. Hopefully, I can win another one here.”

Stalzer and the Cargo Movers are set to face Foton on Thursday also at the same San Juan City venue.
