‘Bakbakan’ finals under way

MANILA, Philippines — The challenging three-day finals of FIGBA National Bakbakan 12-Stag Derby starts at Roligon Mega Cockpit today with over 100 encounters programmed.

Participants with 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6 points will have their 5-stag finals today.

The contenders will come from Roligon, Marianas Islands (MGBA), Metro Manila (MMGBA), Laguna (Lagba), Cavite (UCBA), Mindoro (UMIGBA) and Palawan (UPBA).

Thirty-two participants (78 fights) with 6.5 points clash on Dec. 13.

The grand finals, reserved for an elite group of 7 pointers (44 including one from Guam), is scheduled on Dec. 15.

Officials of all gamefowl breeders associations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will converge at Roligon this week, said FIGBA (International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Associations) president Ricoy Palmares Jr.

‘Bakbakan’ is co-presented by Thunderbird – Passion of the Filipino Nation, B-MEG Integra Power Maxx, and Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialist; in cooperation with Hagibis, Salto, LDI, Pit Fighter, VNJ Distributors and Mad Science.
