PNP prevails in UNTV

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police smothered Ombudsman in their winner-take-all clash, running away with an 81-53 victory to capture the second UNTV Cup Executive Face-Off crown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Monday night.

Before a huge crowd, the Responders dominated the paint through Joel de Mesa, who came away with 17 points to power the team to the lopsided win. He also went on to bag the MVP honors.

Israel Dickson, Voltaire Rivera and Joshua Alejanco combined for 31 points for PNP, which seized control early, posting a commanding 31-10 bulge after 10 minutes on their way to an unassailable 63-38 lead at the end of the third period.

But the biggest winner proved to be PNP’s chosen charity – PARDSS Foundation International Inc. – which received P1 million from UNTV 37 Foundation Inc. spearheaded by Dr. Daniel Razon.
