MANILA, Philippines – Now it can be told. GlobalPort and TNT KaTropa had reached a trade agreement involving Terrence Romeo before the trade deadline, but the PBA Commissioner’s Office disapproved the swap proposal.

With their Philippine Cup both over, the two teams are expected meet again in the next few days to draw a more balanced trade proposal.

Nixed by the Commissioner’s Office earlier was the proposed transfer of Terrence Romeo and Bryan Guinto to TNT KaTropa for Moala Tautaa and Alfrancis Tamsi.

Going over the trade proposals in the league now is a special committee created by PBA commissioner Willie Marcial. PBA legal counsel Melvin Mendoza and technical team members Eric Castro, Mauro Bengua and Rosc Teotico compose the committee.

GlobalPort worked on a trade deal reportedly upon the request of Romeo himself.

The Batang Pier have more reason to facilitate Romeo’s transfer now after the player engaged coach Pido Jarencio in an ugly verbal tussle in their last game in the conference versus the Star Hotshots Tuesday.

Romeo drew flak on social media for his utter disrespect to his coach.
