JCA whips Philippine Cultural College in PCYAA tiff

MANILA, Philippines — Hot-shooting Carlo Lim continued to torch the opposition as he powered host Jubilee Christian Academy to a convincing 83-68 triumph over Philippine Cultural College in the Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association (PCYAA) at the Uno High School Gym.

Averaging more than 30 points in the last two outings, Lim exploded anew, scoring 34 points, including 21 in the second half as he carried the Jubileeans to their third win in as many games of the 18-under boys division.

Joining Jubilee Christian in a share of the lead was last year’s runner up St. Jude, which blasted Grace Christian College, 89-69.

Meanwhile, Pace Academy improved to 2-1 by walloping Uno High School, 72-55.

It was the fourth straight loss for Uno, which found no answer in stopping Pace’s big guns.

Airick Sy finished with 14 points, Anton Evangelista added 11 and Jeff Lugay chipped in 10.  Lugay and Evangelista also had 11 and 10 boards, respectively.
