Racraquin racks ’em in vs Cards

MANILA, Philippines — Francesca Racraquin turned in another superb all-around game as San Beda racked up its fourth straight win with a 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15 victory over Mapua yesterday to join defending champion Arellano U in the lead in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.

Racraquin fired 19 points, made 17 digs and came through with 13 excellent receptions – all game-highs – to power the Lady Red Booters to the four-set victory.

Ma. Nieza Viray and Trisha Paras backed up Racraquin with 14 and 13 markers, respectively, while Satriani Espiritu and Maria Jiezela Viray had 10 markers apiece for the Red Booters, who caught up with the Lady Chiefs again at the top.

It was Racraquin, who sharpened her skills playing both as a libero and spiker with the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League, who did most of the dirty work to help San Beda kept its streak going.
