San Beda, St. Benilde reign in NCAA taekwondo

MANILA, Philippines — San Beda claimed the men’s title while College of St. Benilde took the women’s crown in the 93rd NCAA taekwondo competitions at the Letran Gym last Monday.

Abram Lance Cuvinar clinched the heavyweight gold medal and the MVP trophy to lead the Dexter John Rico-mentored Red Jins to their 10th championship after garnering 91 points overall.

The Knights finished second with 64 points while the Blazers wound up third with 52 points.

St. Benilde, meanwhile, snared its third consecutive title with 76 points with San Beda, mentored by former Olympian Robert Cruz, finishing second with 72 points.
