DLS-Zobel claims two 10-U cage crowns

MANILA, Philippines — De La Salle-Zobel stamped its class and swept two titles in the 10-and-under division, topping the PAYA and Smart Breakdown Basketball Invitational recently.
Led by sons of former and current PBA officials, DLS-Z crushed Claret School, 54-31, to capture the PAYA (Philippine Athletic Youth Association) crown last Saturday at the Xavier gym.
Drawing big games from Champ Arejola, son of GlobalPort governor and AirAsia executive Erick Arejola, Kieffer Alas, son of Alaska assistant coach Louie Alas, Kio Favis, son of former Coke mentor Binky Favis, and Daniel Sta. Maria, son of ex-La Salle player Adonis Sta Maria, La Salle then routed Xavier School, 76-62, to clinch the Smart Breakdown Basketball Invitational plum at the Moro Lorenzo gym inside the Ateneo de Manila campus last Sunday.
