Chezka’s kid sister rising pool star
KUALA LUMPUR – The Philippines boasts of a stable of champion lady pool players, led by back-to-back SEA Games titlist Chezka Centeno who may soon be joined by a younger sister.
Albert and Josephine Centeno, proud parents of current Phl pool queen, see another potential pool talents in youngest daughter Charlize and even grandchild Liam Brandon.
“Charlize is 11 and she’s already good at it. Liam Brandon is four and he’s already playing,” said Albert.
“We don’t encourage them, but they’re getting into it because we have pool tables at home and we rent some around the city,” added the Zamboanga City native.
Chezka learned the game on their pool tables and, at 11, held her own against veteran pool campaigners, rocking the 2010 Philippine National Games in Negros with a third-place finish.
And no sooner, she became an Asian junior champion.
