Depleted TnT, RoS try to fan q’final bid

MANILA, Philippines - TNT and Rain or Shine try to make do with their depleted rosters after lending their stars for two international competitions with the KaTropa also parading a new import as they collide today in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Glen Rice Jr., who had played for the Washington Wizards over two NBA seasons, takes over Michael Craig with the Texters also signing up Rudy Lingganay to a short-term contract in the absence of Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy and Troy Rosario.

But the Elasto Painters will also be without Raymond Almazan and Gabe Norwood, who are also with the Asia Cup quintet, as they try to improve their 2-2 card and into the upper half of the 12-team field.

Gametime is at 6:45 p.m.

The spitfirish Castro, who came through with 23 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists and clutch plays in leading TNT to a 107-106 victory over the Alaska Aces last Aug. 4, and Pogoy are still with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon.?Rosario, on the other hand, and Rain or Shine’s Ed Daquioag are with the Gilas Cadet in the SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

That leaves RR Garcia, Ranidel De Ocampo, Ryan Reyes, Harvey Carey, Moala Tautuaa and new import Rice to carry the load for the Texters, who tote a 2-1 card.
