MANILA, Philippines – Coach Yeng Guiao is bringing another former player over to NLEX as they’re set to acquire Cyrus Baguio in a three-way trade deal also involving Mac Baracael and Dylan Ababou.

NLEX, GlobalPort and Phoenix Petroleum agreed on a swap where the Road Warriors are getting Baguio, the Batang Pier absorb Mac Baracael while the Fuel Masters take in Ababou plus a future NLEX draft rights.

The trade proposal is subject to the approval of PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa.

Baguio played for a longtime under Guiao at Red Bull before moving to Burger King, Barangay Ginebra, Alaska Milk and Phoenix Petroleum.

The former Santo Tomas U stalwart also played under Guiao in the Philippine team to the Tianjian Asian joust in 2009.

At NLEX, Baguio will also be reunited with former Red Bull teammate Larry Fonacier.

Another former ward that’s now with Guiao at NLEX is 6-foot-4 center/forward JR Quinahan.

Since Guiao started to tweak the NLEX lineup, the Road Warriors have made a big turnaround from being an also-run to an early frontrunner in the current PBA Governors Cup.

Meanwhile, Glen Rice Jr., recruited by TNT KaTropa to take over from Mike Craig, was officially measured at the PBA office Tuesday at 6-foot-4. He is a son of former NBA star Glen Sr.

In another development, Rain or Shine center Beau Belga drew a game suspension plus a fine of 17,500 for a flagrant foul and his seventh technical infraction in the season.

Belga saves his suspension upon the return to Rain or Shine of Gilas players Gabe Norwood and Raymond Almazan.
